Business Management/ Urban Planning 

Do you have a passion for research and development? Have any interest in real estate or commercial/residential properties? Are you interested in transportation systems or urban planning and how that effects economic growth in an area?

Then this is the internship for you!

The Economic Development/Urban Planning interns will focus primarily on projects associated with business management and operations of Wilmington Downtown Inc.  Programs and activities are designed to help attract, retain and support businesses and attract investors within the community.

Responsibilities include:

  • Building and maintaining our property and business database
  • Creating and evaluating surveys of residents, and merchants on their views and visions for Downtown
  • Developing communications to engage with the business community
  • Examining the transportation and parking infrastructure throughout downtown
  • Evaluating directional and wayfinding signage
  • Researching placemaking and parking policies as well as industry best practices
  • Assist with Quarterly Board Meeting agendas, minutes, and material on either Wednesday, January 25 or Wednesday, April 26 at 4PM.

We are seeking interns who are: creative, outgoing, deadline driven, self- starters, proactive, detail oriented, flexible, committed and think outside the box.
