Communication Intern  

Are you always Tweeting, Facebooking, and Instagramming? Do you sometimes get a little hashtag #crazy? Do you love blogging and social media? Snapping pics and creative writing?

The Communication interns will assist with projects associated with connecting with partners, stakeholders and the public about our programs and activities, the businesses in downtown and events happening within our community. They will also help implement our social media strategy, develop brand awareness, and generate increased interest through social and digital platforms. The Communication interns are highly motivated individuals with experience with Twitter/Facebook/Instragram/Blogging and have a passion for content strategy, community participation, and social media trends.

Responsibilities include:

  • Execute day-to-day social media initiatives; including posting diverse content and developing strategies to improve engagement and drive action across all major channels (Facebook, Twitter, lnstagram, Tumblr, YouTube, etc.), Create and maintain a social media calendar for short-term and long-term campaigns.
  • Managing our blog. This includes planning and organizing a blog schedule for each month, creative writing about new places in Downtown, restaurants, merchants & upcoming events.
  • Track social media engagement and results, and create monthly social media reports.
  • Create and monitor effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media programs. Analyze, review and report on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results.
  • Brainstorm and collaborate with fellow interns for the organization & creation of content that includes, but is not limited to: social media content, promotions, contests, etc.
  • Assist with Quarterly Board Meeting agendas, minutes, and material on either Wednesday, January 25 or Wednesday, April 26 at 4PM.
