Board of Directors
   A public-private partnership, Wilmington Downtown, Inc. is governed by a 37-member board that represents various downtown constituencies, as well as city and county governments.
   The board serves from July 1 to June 30, which is Wilmington Downtown's fiscal year. The full board meets quarterly; the four standing committees meet monthly. The vice presidents, who chair the committees, plus Wilmington Downtown's president and treasurer, constitute the executive committee, which meets monthly.

Karl Davis memorial
   Board member Karl Davis, the general manager of WECT television, died in a motorcycle accident on Jan. 12, 2008. A memorial service on Jan. 18 at Thalian Hall drew an estimated 600 people. Video of the service is available on the WECT web site.
