The Downtown Business Alliance presents the 8th Annual Downtown Wilmington ArtWalk. We close down Front St.(which is the main street thru downtown Wilmington) and set up the artists down the middle of the street, for 6 blocks. Pedestrians stroll down thru the area to explore all of the wonderful items on display. In the past, this event has drawn close to 10,000 people throughout the day.
As in the past, there are 3 different levels available for participation. The main highlighted part of the event is the $75.00 level. This allows you a 20' x 10' area to display your work however you wish. The next level is the "Emerging Artists" area. The price for this area is $35 and allows you a 10' X 10" area space. This area has a retail price restriction of $150 or less. This area is more intended for artist who is trying to break into a larger event and get their work in front of a large crowd. The last area is the 50/50 area. This area is $25, and has only 50 spaces available, and work in this area can retail at only $50 or less( hence 50 artists/$50 or less).
We are also looking for musicians and performance artists that would be interested in performing at this year’s event. We will have a couple of staging areas where these people will perform to the public.
Join the Grand Procession of Peculiar Pets as part of the 8th Annual Art Walk in Downtown Wilmington. Make attire and adornments that will transform you into your favorite exotic creature! Artists of all ages are invited to a peculiar pet making party to create a mask and accessories to be worn in the parade. You may use our art supplies, or bring some of your own.
