Bluegrass fans who love the coast no longer have to travel to the hills to hear the American root rhythms of mandolin, banjo, fiddle, guitar and bass. Visitors to Wilmington and North Carolina's Cape Fear Coast will tap their toes, stomp their feet, and dance to their hearts' content alongside the scenic Cape Fear River during the 8 th Annual Southern Coastal Bluegrass Festival on September 18-19. This musical showcase of the region's best bluegrass bands will jam riverside at a new venue, Battleship Park, across from Downtown Wilmington. Dancing, arts and crafts, and a selection of food, beer and local wines are also on tap for this year's bluegrass festival.
The 8th Annual Southern Coastal Bluegrass Festival is presented by The Thalian Association, the official Community Theater of North Carolina. Proceeds from the festival are used to fund theatrical productions of the Thalian Association and TACT (Thalian Association Children's Theater).
