Please join in and help PPD welcome our veterans and participants of the Warrior Ride 2010 to downtown Wilmington.
A group of military veteran cyclists are expected to ride into Tabitha's Courtyard at Cape Fear Community College as part of the 2010 Warrior Ride. The public is invited to join students and college employees to welcome the riders into downtown Wilmington. An announcement will be made to employees as the riders approach downtown and we hope that you can take a short break from your work to walk down to CFCC and cheer them on. Upon their arrival a brief ceremony will be held with several local officials. We hope you can join us for this event to show your appreciation for these brave men and women and their tremendous service to our country.
CFCC is the last stop of Thursday's ride which is being held in honor of the N.C. National Guard, in memory of the nation's fallen and injured soldiers from all branches of service. Tabitha's Courtyard is located in the 400 block on N. Front St. in downtown Wilmington.
The Warrior Ride is a rehabilitative cycling program for wounded warriors. For many of these combat-wounded veterans, a ride like this provides the first steps in the return to an active lifestyle.
