You'll find that when it gets down to it we're a family of storytellers, and our own story is no exception. Carolina Farmin' is the result of a lifetime of hard work and passion for everything that makes North Carolina wonderful to Wayne Long, a local Wilmington entrepreneur and community leader. Wayne grew up on a small community grocery owned by his father in Shallotte and currently owns and cultivates a 40 acre farm, Prospect Farms, also in Shallotte.

Wayne's vision to provide a community market in the downtown Wilmington area, combined with his desire to be a leader in the farm-to-table movement of our region, is what brought Carolina Farmin' to life. His passion for a real community gathering place, a place where everyday folks can shop for well-priced local foods and make new friends, too, is what sets Carolina Farmin' apart from the rest. Nothing fancy here, just good old down-home food, true southern hospitality and a genuine desire to stand behind everything we do and sell. We hope you like it here as much as we do because we call this place home.
