Ambassador Program:

A Safer and Cleaner Downtown

The major emphasis of the MSD is working to ensure that Downtown is a safe and inviting place for those who work here, those who live here and those who visit to dine, shop or be entertained. Uniformed and highly trained Ambassadors are specifically charged with the responsibility of achieving these objectives.

The Ambassador team works seven days a week, from 7am to 10pm from Mondays through Thursday.  Hours on Fridays and Saturday are 7am to 11pm.  Sunday hours are 9am to 5:30pm.  They can be reached during operating hours at 910. 448.1078 or via email at  If a request is the City of Wilmington’s responsibility, the Ambassador will submit the work order to the appropriate city department.

  • Concierge assistance
  • "Eyes and Ears" for local law enforcement
  • Foot patrols
  • Referrals to human service programs
  • Reporting inoperable street lights
  • Security escorts
  • Trespass monitoring
  • Graffiti removal
  • Special litter pick-up
  • Sticker removal
  • Sidewalk pressure washing
