Cosmic Charlie will Play at Downtown Sundown, Wristband Proceeds Benefit CFGBA

This Friday, July 29, Cosmic Charlie, Grateful Dead tribute band, will play at the Downtown Sundown Concert Series. Forrest Tabor will open at 6:00pm in Riverfront Park, followed by Cosmic Charlie at 8:00pm. This week, half of the wristband proceeds will benefit the Cape Fear Green Building Alliance (CFGBA).
CFGBA is a non-profit organization that works to reduce the environmental impacts of buildings and development in the local area. Their mission is to promote building practices that are environmentally responsible, healthy and economically sound. They accomplish this through outreach and educational programs for both the public and the building industry.
"We appreciate this fundraising opportunity with WDI and think it will be a lot of fun. We're also happy to benefit our downtown," says Joy Allen, Executive Director of the organization.
Wristbands will be sold for $1.00 per person at Downtown Sundown for the remainder of the series. WDI will be splitting the proceeds with local charities and nonprofit organizations each week up to $1,000. Visit www.wilmingtondowntown.com for a list of charities and corresponding dates.
