Downtown Sundown Donates $400 to CFGBA

On Friday, July 29, the Downtown Sundown Concert Series featured Cosmic Charlie, a Grateful Dead tribute band. The show raised $400 for the Cape Fear Green Building Alliance (CFGBA).
CFGBA is a non-profit organization that works to reduce the environmental impacts of buildings and development in the local area. Their mission is to promote building practices that are environmentally responsible, healthy and economically sound. They accomplish this through outreach and educational programs for both the public and the building industry.
"We appreciate this fundraising opportunity, and we are glad to help WDI promote downtown" says Joy Allen, Executive Director of the organization.
Wristbands will be sold for $1.00 per person at Downtown Sundown for the remainder of the series. WDI will be splitting the proceeds with local charities and nonprofit organizations each week up to $1,000. Please visit www.wilmingtondowntown.com for a list of charities and corresponding dates.
