PRESS RELEASE

Wilmington Downtown, Inc. (WDI) recently presented a check for $850 to the YWCA of the Lower Cape Fear. The funds, which were raised during The Frontiers show of the Downtown Sundown Concert Series, will benefit the YWCA's "Save the Bubble" campaign. The goal of this campaign is to replace the YWCA pool bubble. The bubble is placed on the pool during the cooler months (September through May) so that swim lessons, water aerobics, lap swimming, lifeguard training and other services that promote healthy lifestyles can continue.

The YWCA Lower Cape Fear is a nonprofit membership organization founded in 1914 as an affiliate of the national YWCA, an autonomous women's movement. They are committed to self-determined social change for women of all racial, ethnic and economic groups. The YWCA provides leadership in the community, nation and world in the struggle for peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all people.

Wristbands will be sold for $1.00 per person at Downtown Sundown for the remainder of the series. WDI will be splitting the proceeds with local charities and nonprofit organizations each week up to $1,000. Please visit www.wilmingtondowntown.com for a list of charities and corresponding dates.
