Downtown Sundown Donates to Children at Heart

On Friday, August 19, Onward Soldiers played at the Downtown Sundown Concert Series along with opening act Kersten Charlotte Capra. The show raised $330 for Children at Heart (CAH) Adoption Services, a non-profit domestic and international adoption agency. CAH has placed infants, toddlers, children to age 12, siblings, as well as handicapped children (minor to severely handicapped). Their office is located at 254 North Front Street in downtown Wilmington.
"We are very pleased to have been given this opportunity by WDI to raise funds to support our international and domestic adoption programs, and to bring awareness to our services for local birth mothers," says Erica Bergeron Willock, Assistant Director for Children at Heart Adoption Services.
Wristbands will be sold for $1.00 per person at Downtown Sundown for the remainder of the series. WDI will be splitting the proceeds with local charities and nonprofit organizations each week up to $1,000. Visit www.wilmingtondowntown.com for a list of charities and corresponding dates.
