PRESS RELEASE
Last week, the Downtown Sundown Concert Series brought in $450 for Port City Ruritan (PCR). SRVT, a local Stevie Ray Vaughan Tribute Band, gave a great show after opening act Madonna Nash. The amount of funds raised from Downtown Sundown Concerts for local charities now totals $3,440.
The money PCR received will go toward their efforts to support Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Lifecare Center. PCR is a civic service organization devoted to providing Wilmington with excellent volunteers, community improvement projects and fundraisers to benefit local needs.
"Port City Ruritan is very grateful to have worked with WDI in our fundraising effort to support Lower Caper Fear Hospice," states Lara Landgraf, board member for the organization. For more information about PCR, visit http://www.pcruritan.org.
Wristbands will be sold for $1.00 per person at Downtown Sundown for the remainder of the series. WDI will be splitting the proceeds with local charities and nonprofit organizations each week up to $1,000. Half of the wristband proceeds will go to Techniques in Motions Booster on July 1, followed by Cape Fear Housing Land Trust (CFHLT) on July 8.
