WDI will be selling wristbands for $1.00 per person at Downtown Sundown this summer, and splitting the proceeds with local charities and non-profit organizations each week. Please visit www.wilmingtondowntown.com for a list of charities and corresponding dates.

"Thanks to the support of local people and organizations like WDI, the Red Cross is able to carry out our lifesaving mission in the Cape Fear region, across the country and around the world," said Autum Mihm, Marketing and Development Coordinator. "All Red Cross disaster relief is free to those we serve. This is made possible by voluntary donations by people like you of time and money."

They train, mobilize and connect donors and volunteers to those in urgent need of a helping hand. June 1st marks the beginning of hurricane season which runs through the end of November. The American Red Cross urges everyone to update their family evacuation plan, emergency preparedness kit and get better prepared for the 2011 hurricane season.
