Downtown Sundown Raises $775 for UNCW's MPA-GSA

On Friday, July 22, Downtown Sundown welcomed Slippery When Wet, a Bon Jovi tribute band, to the stage. The concert also raised $775 for UNCW's Masters of Public Administration Graduate Student Association.
The MPA-GSA will use the funds to offset costs for students to attend professional conferences in order to network and meet other public administrators. The MPA Graduate Student Association was founded in the fall of 2008 when a niche for professional development and advocacy of MPA students was identified. The MPA-GSA is a student-led organization providing professional development, community service, networking and social opportunities for students in the MPA program.
Wristbands will be sold for $1.00 per person at Downtown Sundown for the remainder of the series. WDI will be splitting the proceeds with local charities and nonprofit organizations each week up to $1,000. Please visit www.wilmingtondowntown.com for a list of charities and corresponding dates.
