Wilmington, NC - On Friday, August 3, Yellow Dubmarine took the stage at the Downtown Sundown Concert Series. Through the charity wristband program, the concert raised $475 for the Cucalorus Film Foundation. Cucalorus is a non-competitive festival focused on supporting innovative artists and encouraging creative exchange. The festival is held each November in historic downtown Wilmington, NC with screenings of 150 films from around the world.
"It's great when non-profits work together and support each other. Every little dollar is cherished in our world, so the funds from the concert will be matched many times over by other generous supporters and used for something meaningful, that's for sure! We just want to send a big love taco to Wilmington Downtown for making it happen," says Dan Brawley, Director of Cucalorus.
The Downtown Sundown Concert Series is coordinated by Wilmington Downtown, Inc. (WDI), a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the economic growth and development of downtown Wilmington. Wristbands are sold for $1 per person at each concert to those drinking alcohol. The charity wristband program entitles a different organization to half of the proceeds from wristband sales up to $1,000 each week.
