PRESS RELEASE

This Friday, July 8, the Downtown Sundown Concert Series will present UV, the International U2 Tribute Band & Show at 8:00pm in Riverfront Park. Madonna Nash will open the show at 6:00pm. This week's charitable organization will be CFHLT (Cape Fear Housing Land Trust). CFHLT is a nonprofit organization that provides affordable first-time homeownership opportunities in Pender, New Hanover and Brunswick counties.

Wristbands will be sold for $1.00 per person at Downtown Sundown for the remainder of the series. WDI will be splitting the proceeds with local charities and nonprofit organizations each week up to $1,000. Please visit www.wilmingtondowntown.com for a list of charities and corresponding dates.

Funds raised will go directly towards CFHLT's construction costs for the first home under the Land Trust's stewardship. Construction on the home, located at 808 North 6th Street, begins this week. CFHLT is excited that proceeds will go into creating homeownership opportunities in the downtown area.

"The Land Trust's offices, our first construction site and many of the homeownership opportunities we will provide are all located in Wilmington's downtown - so we strongly support WDI and the work they are doing to improve our central business district - physically, economically and socially," says Erin Diener, Executive Director of CFHLT.

CFHLT ensures forever-affordable communities through the innovative stewardship of land and creation of first-time homeownership opportunities in the Cape Fear Region. For information about this organization, visit their website at http://www.cfhlt.org.
