Downtown Sundown Will Contribute to CFCC Scholarship

Wilmington Downtown, Inc. (WDI) will welcome the Breakfast Club to the Downtown Sundown Concert Series on Friday, June 3. The band will begin playing at 8:00 p.m. in Riverfront Park, located in downtown Wilmington. Forest Tabor will open the show at 6:00pm.
This week WDI will be splitting half of the proceeds from wristband sales with the Cape Fear Community College Alumni Association. The money raised will help fund the CFCC Alumni Association Alumni Legacy Scholarship. Once endowed, this scholarship will provide funding to a selected CFCC student each year who is a family member, or legacy, of a former CFCC student.
"The CFCC Alumni Association is excited to partner with Wilmington Downtown, Inc. in sponsoring a Downtown Sundown concert," said Dana McKoy, Coordinator of Alumni Relations at CFCC. "These concerts are a wonderful celebration of the downtown Wilmington area and are great family-friendly fun. Since most of our CFCC alumni stay in the Wilmington area when they graduate, we hope to see a number of CFCC alumni on Friday night at the concert!"
The CFCC Alumni Association was formed to build partnerships between the community, the College and its alumni and to give back through involvement, fellowship and service. "As the association enters its third year, our officers feel it is important to give back to the college that has directly impacted the lives of so many community residents and businesses, and to impact future generations of CFCC students. Funding the Legacy Scholarship is one way they have begun to do this," said McKoy.
