WDI Awarded Bank of America Grant

Wilmington Downtown Inc. (WDI) today announced a $1,500 grant from the Bank of America Charitable Foundation to assist the organization in carrying out its mission in 2012. Last fiscal year, WDI assisted 16 companies in locating to downtown, which absorbed more than 35,000 square feet of commercial space and created approximately 275 jobs.

WDI is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote the economic growth and development of downtown Wilmington. WDI plans to focus its attention on job creation, business recruitment and office space absorbency in the CBD through site selection assistance and small business loans in 2012. The grant, which WDI applied for in September, is focused on providing opportunity and improving the quality of life in local communities.
