Due to construction at Riverfront Park in front of the Federal Courthouse, the concert series has moved for the season to the corner of Market and S. 2nd Streets. As this is a new location, WDI has developed a short guide to help people attending the free shows.
Parking: The Market Street Deck is literally across the street from the concert site. The 2nd Street Deck is one block away, across Princess Street. There are surface lots scattered around other areas of Downtown and most allow paid, public parking. Be sure to look for the pay station for rates. PLEASE avoid parking in the neighborhood South of Orange Street (past the Hannah Block building).
Ride Share: If taking Lyft, Uber or taxi, use the address of 20 South 2nd Street.
Step in: The eastern side of the lot (along Market Street) is available for people to meet up and wait before going through the gate. To keep the sidewalks open and flowing, please wait for friends in this space.
Chairs: Unlike Riverfront Park, the site does not have any built-in seating. While portable chairs are allowed, space is limited and on a first come-first served basis. To accommodate the crowd, the area in front of the stage is for people standing only. Chair areas are mostly on the perimeter of the lot. See this map.
Food: With the abundance of nearby restaurants, the event does not have a food truck this year. You can bring in hand-held food, but no picnics, blankets or tables.
Drinks: Like always, no outside drinks are allowed. This includes water.
Entry/Exit: All access to the festival area is from Market Street. There is no direct entry or exit to Dock Street or to South 2nd Street.
Drinks: Bottled water is available at the ticket tents for $2. Beer and wine tickets may be purchased for $5. A valid ID is required to buy beer or wine. Drink tickets are sold separately at two tents – look for a silver colored top. You must also obtain a $1 wristband. Cash is faster but credit cards are accepted.
Pets: To prevent an animal from being stepped-on or stressed by the noise, crowd or hot pavement, pets are prohibited.
Have Fun – Be Kind: Everyone is here to have a good time, listen to tunes and socialize. As it can be hot, be sure to hydrate and get along with people around you.
Enjoy: This is a free show that also serves as a fundraiser for local non-profits. Please support the sponsors and vendors and consider donating money if you like having this type of event.
