Wilmington Coup is also know as Wilmington's "Race Riot"of 1898.
On November 10th, 1898, after the publication the of Daily Record, an armed white mob met and marched the streets of Downtown Wilmington. The mob burned the office of Alex Manly, the author of the Daily Record due to what was said about white men.
