Ambassadors Keep Busy With Trash Pick-Up And Giving Directions

Posted Feb 25th, 2019 in Feat of the Week

The MSD Ambassadors were busy in Downtown Wilmington this weekend. They cleared up a lot of trash that the strong winds had blown along the Riverwalk and helped many families who’d had fun at the Kids Expo with directions to places they could eat and shop.

Helping keep the Municipal Services District clean is one of the roles of the Ambassadors. Sanitation is primarily dealt with by the City of Wilmington. Because the Ambassadors patrol the streets daily, they provide an additional set of helping hands.

To help with directions, the Ambassadors carry the pocket-sized, Shopping, Dining and Entertainment Guides. These comprehensive guides list over 400 downtown merchants and attractions on one side with grid references that refer to the street map on the other side. Key buildings, parking decks and the City-owned, surface lots are also clearly marked for easy reference.

Get your Shopping, Dining and Entertainment Guide free from an Ambassador or from one of the multiple locations downtown including the WDI office, the Visitor Center and the Convention and Visitors Bureau. We are currently updating the guide to reflect additional new businesses and the new guide will be available in April. So, if you see a merchant that is not listed, please call 910.763.7349 to let us know.

To get your free copy of the guide, call or email an Ambassador.

They can be reached during operating hours by phone or text at 910.524.3600.

Hours: Mon – Thurs 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m., Fri/Sat 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m., Sun 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
