The City of Wilmington July 4th Fireworks display is always a big event in Downtown Wilmington. It has even been named one of the top fireworks displays in the country according to Coastal Living Magazine.
Thousands of people come downtown for the event and many visitors are here all week taking time to explore the area. Because of this influx of visitors, the Ambassadors are busy answering questions and helping people find their way around.
Identifiable by their bright orange shirts, the Municipal Service District Ambassadors can easily be seen walking around the center city. They have extended knowledge of downtown shops, businesses, attractions, entertainment venues and services, so they can respond to inquiries from visitors by recommending places to shop, dine or play.
If you want to know how to get to one of Downtown Wilmington’s awesome attractions, ask an Ambassador. If you need to find a shop that sells gifts, ask an Ambassador. If you want to learn more about The Cotton Exchange, ask an Ambassador. Looking for a great place to eat? Ask an Ambassador. The Ambassadors also carry the pocket-sized Shopping Dining Entertainment guides which include a map to help with directions.
In preparation for the fireworks display, the City will have to close several streets by Thursday evening (see maps here for traffic flow). The Ambassadors will be on hand to direct people to parking decks. On-street parking is free on July 4th and special event rates apply to the parking decks (see here for details).
