Ask an Ambassador for Assistance or Directions

Posted Jan 27th, 2020 in Feat of the Week

On Saturday, WECT News held its annual Get Fit with 6 Race and Wellness Expo at the Coastline Conference & Event Center in Downtown Wilmington. The Star News Media Cape Fear Cares Volunteer Fair was also held in the lobby of the Wilson Center at the same time.

Many people turned out for both these events and the Municipal Service District (MSD) Ambassadors were on hand to provide assistance to attendees. Some asked about parking or requested directions to the event spaces, while others inquired about places to eat and shop after the event.

The Ambassadors are knowledgeable about the many merchants downtown and carry pocket-sized, Shopping, Dining and Entertainment guides to give to visitors. These guides have a map on one side and a comprehensive list of shops, restaurants, attractions and useful services on the other. They are a compact, visual alternative to Smartphones.

If you are attending an event downtown or need help locating some of the many things to do and see in the center city, ask an Ambassador for assistance.

The Ambassador team is on-hand to help anyone who needs assistance seven days a week, from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Mondays through Thursday. Friday and Saturday hours are 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and Sunday hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

They can be reached during operating hours by phone or text at 910.524.3600 or via email at
