Caprice Bistro is Highly Recommended

Posted Aug 28th, 2018 in Foodie Fodder

When visitors from out-of-town enthuse about a business in Downtown, we love to share their experience. This couple was visiting from South Carolina and chose to celebrate a wedding anniversary in Wilmington. This is what they had to say:

Q. Why did you choose Caprice Bistro?

A. We researched restaurants and their reviews close to the Riverwalk that we could walk to from our hotel. Caprice Bistro caught our eye...

Q. What were your first impressions of the restaurant?

A. Cozy and friendly.

Q. What did you think of the menu?

A. It was short but daily specials were offered…nice wine menu!

Q. How was the service?

A. Service was excellent! Food was served in a timely manner.

Q. What did you both order?

A. I had the heirloom tomato appetizer topped with the most delicious goat cheese I have ever had! Then, duck confit and chocolate mousse. My duck was cooked perfectly! My husband had an asparagus appetizer dressed with a citrus dressing and topped with orange sections. He had Pork Normandy for his main course and chocolate cake and ice cream for dessert, both of which were good.

Q. What did you like about the food?

Beautiful presentation and everything was delicious!

Q. In true French style, the portions were probably small—would you have preferred a larger portion?

A. Small, yes…but you have room for dessert!

Q. How would you rate your experience and how likely are you to recommend Caprice to others?

A. It was wonderful! We will go back!  We sat upstairs in the sofa bar which has limited seating but is intimate. They had nice background music.

Caprice Bistro, owned and operated by Thierry and Patricia Moity obviously lived up to its reputation as being a delightful place to eat with attentive staff and delicious food.
