The Leprechauns May Have Visited Downtown This Weekend

Posted Mar 18th, 2019 in Feat of the Week

If you were in Downtown Wilmington for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and celebrations this weekend, you could be forgiven for thinking the leprechauns visited, yet the actions of the good ones overcame those of others because when daylight broke this morning, there was very little evidence of the celebration.

While some leprechauns were mischievous, others performed good deeds. The Municipal Service District Ambassadors and City of Wilmington street-cleaning crews made sure all was well by cleaning up the center city throughout the weekend. Litter was picked up, trash cans were emptied and the streets were swept.

If you think some of the sidewalks are looking cleaner, you would be right. In addition to safety patrols, sticker removal, graffiti clean-up and special litter pick-up, one of the services provided by the MSD Ambassadors is pressure washing. After this weekend, a number of areas needed attention so the Ambassadors worked their magic and cleaned up some of the sidewalks.

If you are aware of any other areas in need of attention, please let us know so we can keep our City beautiful.
