Although graffiti art may be acceptable in some places as a form of artistic expression, graffiti vandalism is not. When graffiti vandals deface public or private property in Downtown Wilmington without permission, it can negatively impact public perception of the center city.
With the help of the Municipal Service District (MSD) Ambassadors, we strive to keep Downtown Wilmington clear of blight and make it welcoming for residents, businesses and visitors.
During their daily walkabout, the Ambassadors keep an eye out for graffiti vandalism. Once cases are found, the Ambassadors take action to clean up the structure with the owner’s permission. One of the exterior walls of the Cape Fear Men’s club was recently defaced with graffiti and the Ambassadors were able to quickly remove it using a biodegradable scrubbing solution.
In order to keep our center city beautiful, we encourage citizens to report graffiti vandalism so that it can be dealt with swiftly.
If you encounter any suspicious activity or see graffiti in Downtown Wilmington, please call the police at 910.343.3609. Also, please report any building damage to the Ambassadors by emailing email@example.com
