Downtown Planting Beds Get a Face Lift

Posted Aug 12th, 2019 in Feat of the Week

Front Street is always busy with people and foot traffic is particularly heavy during the tourist season. Because of this, the planting beds on either side of the North Front Street crosswalks are prone to some wear and tear.

Recently, the Municipal Service District Ambassadors gave a couple of these beds a face lift. Some new shrubs were planted and soon, fresh mulch will be added. We think you’ll agree the planting beds look much better with some fresh greenery.

Because the Ambassadors patrol the streets of the central business district daily, they are always on the lookout for ways to make the downtown area more attractive and welcoming for people who live, work, shop, dine or play in Downtown Wilmington. If you notice any planted areas or hanging flower baskets in need of attention, please contact an Ambassador.

The Ambassador team is available seven days a week from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday.  Hours on Fridays and Saturdays are 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Sunday hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

They can be also be reached during operating hours by phone (910) 524-3600, or by emailing
