Fall Brings an Abundance of Events to Downtown

Posted Sep 16th, 2019 in Feat of the Week

Fall will be here this weekend and Downtown Wilmington is the place to be to browse, shop and enjoy all the many different events lined up. To prepare for these, the Municipal Service District Ambassadors have been making sure the center city is looking good.

As part of their daily patrols downtown, they are making sure the sidewalks are clear of trash and buildings are free of graffiti and stickers. Several sidewalks were recently pressure-washed by the City of Wilmington cleaning crew and the Ambassadors have been tidying up the planting beds.

A fresh layer of mulch was applied to the beds recently and dead shrubs were removed by the Ambassadors. They have also reinstalled the hanging flower baskets along North Front Street, parts of North 2nd Street and North 4th Street.

Although artist booths will line Front Street from Orange Street to Red Cross Street this Saturday for the first fall event, we expect visitors to explore other parts of downtown too. So, if you notice any areas that could benefit from the Ambassador services, please call or text (910) 524-3600 during operating hours.

Team members are available seven days a week from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday.  Hours on Fridays and Saturdays are 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Sunday hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
