If you want to enjoy art without all the distractions of everyday life, then the Fourth Friday Gallery Night is just the thing for you. Each month, artists open their galleries and studios in the evening hours throughout Downtown Wilmington to share their creations with the public.
Once a month on a Friday night, you have the opportunity to de-clutter your mind and broaden your horizons. The work week is over and it’s time to relax. Not only can you browse at your leisure, you can also rub shoulders with the artists and ask them about their work. Some places provide wine and small bites while others offer demonstrations for you to learn new skills.
Whatever your tastes, you will certainly find something to love at the free, family-friendly, Fourth Friday Gallery Night. Started six years ago by a handful of artists, this celebration has expanded to include 22 different venues. While many are concentrated in the central downtown area, others galleries and studios are open in the Brooklyn Arts District on the north side, and The Artworks (housing a collection with dozens of artists) serves as a destination in the South Front District.
Taking part is easy—just show up at one of the , pick up a map and enjoy!
