Little Things Make a Big Difference

Downtown Wilmington
is full of charm and rich with history. Cleanliness is important to maintain that charm and preserve history.

Since the Municipal Service District (MSD) was formed in 2017, the MSD Ambassadors have been on hand to provide cleaning services to supplement the work done by the City of Wilmington sanitation crew.

Because Downtown Wilmington is busy year-round with myriad activities and events, a great deal of trash is generated and this year, the City installed several new trash and recycling cans. These are in constant use so inevitably, the lids were getting stained. This was noted by the Ambassadors, so they have cleaned them.

This may seem like a small detail, but sometimes it’s the little things that make a big difference. We want to keep the center city beautiful for people to live, work, visit and enjoy.

So, if you see anything that needs attention, whether it is loose trash, graffiti or stickers, please call or text an Ambassador at 910.524.3600 during operating hours: Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.  Sunday hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
