Public Safety is High Priority for the Ambassadors

Posted Mar 25th, 2019 in Feat of the Week

Downtown Wilmington is an attractive destination for people from near and far and the growing popularity of Downtown Wilmington is drawing bigger crowds for events, window shopping or using the Riverwalk.

This weekend, many people attended the Beer, Bourbon & Barbecue Festival at Pier 33. When the event wrapped up, there was a big crowd heading back to the center city. Thankfully, the Ambassadors were on hand to keep people moving and provide assistance where necessary.

Safety and security is important for the enjoyment of events in the downtown area. In the Municipal Service District, the Ambassadors are the extra “eyes and ears” for local law enforcement. They help direct people toward other downtown businesses, assist those needing information and report incidents as they arise.

Whether you live and work here or visit to shop, dine and be entertained, we want you to enjoy all Downtown Wilmington has to offer.

The Ambassador team works seven days a week, from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Hours on Fridays and Saturday are 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.  Sunday hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. They can be reached during operating hours by phone or text at 910.524.3600 or via email at
