Spooky Activities Downtown...Only for the Very Brave!

The full moon may have passed but beware! This weekend, a number of spooky activities are taking place in Downtown Wilmington: ghost walks, haunted houses, spooky trolley tours and scary carriage rides. If you’re brave enough to venture out, check out one of these ghoulish tours…we dare you!

 Join the Ghost Walk of Old Wilmington to journey into the depths of old Wilmington on a 90-minute ghost walk tour of the city's most actively haunted homes and burial grounds. Prepare to be scared as you hear eerie tales of ghostly occurrences. Nightly at 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

 Listen to spooky stories connected with Wilmington’s history while you slowly ride through Downtown on the Wilmington Trolley’s After-Dark Tour. While the trolley will shield you from the elements and you won’t have to walk, you may still feel shivers running down your spine! Tour starts at 8:30 p.m. Friday and Sunday.  If you prefer to steady your nerves with an adult beverage or two, you can celebrate Wilmington's dark history on a 2½ hour Haunted Pub Crawl through the city's most intriguing local pubs and hear true ghostly tales of murder, mayhem, lunacy and debauchery.   Wed – Sat evenings starting at 7:30 p.m.

By day, The Cotton Exchange of Wilmington is a retail complex comprising eight historical buildings dating back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It is home to around 30 shops and restaurants. This Saturday, you can bring your children to a fun, free and safe Trick or Treating event from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. By night you can see The Cotton Exchange in a different light if you dare to book a Haunted Cotton Exchange Tour, Saturday, starting at 7:00 p.m.

 For a family-friendly tour, you can ride the Halloween Ghost Trolley. During this horse-drawn carriage ride, you can listen to ghost stories tailored for young children, and experience the "Haunted Barn."  Let your little ones enjoy Halloween the way it used to be. Available October 26-31, between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. (no reservations).  If spooky happenings are not your thing, reserve a seat on a catamaran for a cruise down the Cape Fear River. You can grab a cocktail and sit back and relax while watching the sunset and listening to live acoustic music. Thurs – Sat nights boarding at 5:30 p.m. Tour Details and Tickets
