Earlier this year, there was a huge internet controversy surrounding the “crime” committed by a mid-western man who brought vertically-sliced bagels to his co-workers. He claimed his St. Louis-style bagels were a hit and his tweet went viral with comments from both sides of the debate. Read all about it here.
Whether you slice bagels vertically or horizontally is up to you. Be thankful you have Tugboat Tony’s Bagel Café on Water Street in Downtown Wilmington selling bagels almost any way you choose. With an à la carte menu, you can get creative!
First, choose from the many bagel varieties including plain, poppy seed, sesame seed, everything, pumpernickel and more. Then, select a filling. For the all-day breakfast sandwiches, pick from the meat and cheese options and then choose any combination of egg, meat and cheese. If you prefer, you can order your breakfast sandwich in a wrap instead of a bagel. If you’re feeling a little rough, the hangover bagel might be the perfect choice! Add your favorite coffee and you’ll be good to go.
Lunch sandwiches are also available on a Panini or sub roll as well as bagels and wraps. Fillings for lunch sandwiches include a variety of deli meats and cheeses. For that special touch, you can add the signature Tugboat Sauce to any sandwich. If you want something different, try a Philly cheesesteak sandwich or a traditional Greek gyro. Choose a fountain soda or bottled drink to complete your meal.
Of course, you can order any number of bagels to go, with or without cream cheese, butter, jelly or the traditional lox, capers and onion filling. If you need food for a meeting or are in charge of feeding a group of people at a social event, you can also order a breakfast or lunch platter from Tugboat Tony’s
Open daily from 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., you can dine in order a take-out. Call-in orders are welcome.
