The Ambassadors Assist With Storm Preparation

Posted Sep 4th, 2019 in Feat of the Week

As Wilmington Downtown braces for another hurricane, the Municipal Service District Ambassadors have been helping downtown businesses secure their property. The have also been making other preparations.

Even though the hanging flower baskets were still looking good after being on display for four months, the Ambassadors took them down ahead of the storm for safety reasons. The baskets will go back up after the storm.

The Ambassadors have also been checking in with businesses during their daily foot patrols around the center city to help answer questions and take note of emergency contact details for communication after the storm. Hurricane Florence made downtown business owners resilient so they are doing everything they can to secure their property and store everything safely.

The Ambassadors are operating during their normal hours today to continue storm preparation. However, they are unlikely to be out on Thursday when the storm is expected to have its biggest impact. We expect the Ambassadors will resume normal services on Friday at noon focusing on security and special cleaning needs.
