The Ambassadors Helped with Post-Festival Clean-Up

Posted Apr 8th, 2019 in Feat of the Week

Despite the rainy start, thousands of people enjoyed this year’s Azalea Festival in Downtown Wilmington. Saturday morning’s parade was a big hit, bands played live music throughout the weekend, various acts graced the multi-cultural stage, children played on the bounce houses and people crowded into the street fair to browse, shop and eat. Throughout the festival, the Ambassadors were on hand to give directions and help with general inquiries.

After the noise died down and people dispersed, the Ambassadors assisted City cleaning crews by picking up trash, removing stickers and pressure washing stained sidewalks. By the time downtown businesses opened their doors this morning, there was barely any evidence of the festival.

If you see something that was missed, whether it is loose trash, graffiti or stickers, please call or text an Ambassador at 910.524.3600 during operating hours: Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.  Sunday hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Once an incident has been reported, it will be dealt with as quickly as possible.

And, if you think the Ambassadors did a great job, take a moment to thank them.
