The Ambassadors Provide Assistance at Special Events

Downtown Wilmington is a hive of activity year-round. When special events take place, locals and visitors are drawn to the new attractions like bees around a honey pot. The arrival of the replica tall ship Nao Santa Maria that docked at Port City Marina last week, was a driving force behind the additional activity Downtown this weekend.

With so many people in the center city, the Ambassadors increased their foot patrols around Pier 33, where the ship is docked until May 19, and along the Riverwalk to assist with inquiries and to give directions. Many visitors to the ship wanted to know what other exciting things Downtown has to offer so it was good the Ambassadors were able to help.

Touring a tall ship is a unique opportunity and is a great reason for all the family to come downtown. While here, you can browse the various unique shops, dine at one of nearly 100 eateries, see a show, enjoy the many other attractions and walk the 1.75-mile long Riverwalk.

We want your Downtown experience to be enjoyable and the Downtown Ambassador team works seven days a week to help make that possible.

They work from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday and from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
