Keeping Downtown Wilmington looking good is important for everyone’s enjoyment. People who live or work here are proud of our beautiful city and want to share that pride with visitors who come downtown to shop, dine and play.
Unfortunately, buildings and other structures are sometimes tarnished by unwelcome graffiti that needs to be removed. Addressing graffiti vandalism is one of the roles of the Municipal Service District’s Ambassadors who respond quickly once an incident is found or reported.
Initially, they photograph the graffiti and report it to the police. Once the building owner’s permission has been granted, the Ambassadors work quickly to remove or paint over offensive wording or graphic images. In the past two weeks, a graffiti vandal targeted three locations in the center city and all this unwelcome blight has now been removed or painted over.
If you encounter any suspicious activity or see graffiti in Downtown Wilmington, please call the police at 910.343.3609. Also, please report any building damage to the Ambassadors by phone or text at 910.524.3600 during operating hours, or by email firstname.lastname@example.org
Ambassador operating hours: Mon–Thurs 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m., Fri/Sat 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m., Sun 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
