The Ambassadors Prepared for Santa’s Arrival

Posted Dec 10th, 2018 in Feat of the Week

A winter storm blew in this weekend, the temperature plummeted and blustery wind and rain kept many people indoors; yet, Saturday was just like any other day for the Downtown Ambassadors. Whether the temperature soars into the 90s or drops down to the 20s, they patrol the streets of Downtown Wilmington seven days a week on foot.

Saturday was a special day in downtown because, as part of the Holly Jolly Holidays, Santa was arriving by water sleigh to greet children and hand out gifts. While Santa’s elves were busy preparing gifts, the Ambassadors made sure the landing area by the Visitors’ Center at the foot of Market Street was clean and tidy.

Santa and Mrs. Claus arrived on time thanks to Wilmington Water Tours and were pleased to see everything was spic and span. With a glint in his eye, he gave a nod to the Ambassadors before turning his attention to the children.

If you think downtown is looking cleaner, take a moment to thank an Ambassador. If you see trash that hasn’t been picked up in the Central Business District, call or email an Ambassador!
