Whether you’re in Downtown Wilmington to visit, live, work, shop, dine or play, being adjacent to the Cape Fear River is a wonderful reminder of our coastal connection and the great selection of beaches close by.
Whether you’re a local or a visitor, many people choose to decorate their homes with a coastal theme. Fortunately, you don’t have to drive to the beach to find a store with coastal-themed merchandise. Nestled between the Italian Gourmet Market and Nikki’s Sushi Bar on South Front Street, Coastal Vibe, which has been downtown for seven years, has an eclectic range of home and table décor to create that calming, laid-back atmosphere.
If you’re looking for a unique beachy product or gift, the chances are Coastal Vibe has it. The owner, Cindy Schram, has a lifetime of retail experience that is evident the moment you step inside. The merchandise is high quality yet affordable and the displays are carefully thought out so you feel like you are moving from room to room when walking through the store. The themed sections include displays for weddings, mother’s day, children, entertaining and farmhouse (a throwback from her early years in City Market).
The walls are adorned with coastal-themed artwork, artifacts and popular beach signs. You will also find a selection of watercolor prints from local artist, Ronald Williams. If you like to dress with style for the beach, Cindy also sells beach cover-ups from Mud Pie, jewelry, sunglasses and totes.
When you find something you like, snap it up because Cindy likes to keep the merchandise fresh. She chooses products carefully and only stocks a limited number of items to retain an element of exclusivity.
Get your beach fix at Coastal Vibe. It’s a great asset to Downtown Wilmington.
