Live at Ted's Officially Opens Downtown

Wilmington, NC- Live at Ted’s recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark its official opening at 2 Castle Street.  The event featured a performance by L Shape Lot and was attended by friends and family along with Wilmington Mayor Bill Saffo, Mayor Pro-Tem Margaret Haynes, and Commissioner Rob Zapple. Wilmington Downtown, Inc. (WDI) officiated the event.

Co-owners, Trent and Whitney Harrison recently renovated the space formerly known as, Ted’s Fun on the River and believe it to be Downtown Wilmington’s only “listening room.” The venue shares a wide range of music from blues to bluegrass with packed audiences in the unique venue that sits almost under the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge.

“We love music and enjoy sharing talented musicians with our guests; add to that, a setting sun on the river, a great beer or nice glass of wine and a magical experience unfolds”, says Whitney.

The interior of Live at Ted’s was thoughtfully renovated to create a small and intimate space for both performers and attendees.  Every seat has sightlines to the stage and the acoustics resonate well throughout the entire space.  The walls are adorned with album covers and posters featuring classic bands and artists.  The business also has a comfortable front porch facing Castle Street and a patio at the back for people wanting to enjoy outdoors.

“WDI is happy to officially welcome Trent and Whitney to Downtown,” said President Ed Wolverton.  “They are a talented couple who are curating a mix of both new musicians and established performers for the Wilmington music scene,” he said.

Shows run on Friday and Saturdays (7-9 p.m.) and Sundays (4-6 p.m.); occasionally, extra performances are held on Thursdays. For the entertainment schedule and pricing information, please check online at or call 910.523.3597.  Information is also posted on their Facebook page.  Live at Ted’s is located at 2 Castle Street.
