Press Release: Investors to Highlight New Projects for Downtown

Wilmington, NC – Area residents and professionals can learn details about the latest and greatest recently completed or underway projects at the upcoming Downtown Economic Series presented by Clancy and Theys Construction Company.  The event is set for November 7, 2019.  Wilmington Downtown Incorporated (WDI) is hosting this informative session to highlight transformational projects that are helping to reshape Downtown with new office, residential and hospitality uses. 


Called “A Growler of Projects” this event will feature four, 10-minute presentations by investors who are leading projects to grow the local economy, create jobs and continue Downtown’s transformation into a 24-hour, mixed-use center.  The presentations will detail a project adding over 275 new residential units, a financial technology firm that opened a ground floor storefront, a parking lot that is being transformed with a new boutique hotel building and the expansion of an existing complex that will add over 55 new apartments in the Brooklyn Arts District. Speakers for the event include:

The Downtown Economic Series presented by Clancy and Theys Construction Company is a bi-annual educational and fundraising activity for Wilmington Downtown Incorporated, a leading local nonprofit organization.  Platinum Sponsors include First National Bank, Pier 33 Apartments, Cape Fear Community College and Griffin Estep Insurance. 


The event will take place in the Union Station Building at Cape Fear Community College beginning at 5:30 p.m. and includes business networking, formal presentations and after-session interaction time.  Attendees will be treated to hors d’oeuvres and two beverage tickets.  The event will conclude at 7:00 p.m.  


Tickets are priced at $30 per person, with tables of 8 available for $200 if purchased before October 31st.  After that, individual tickets are $35 with tables at $250, pending availability.  Tickets can be purchased at the WDI office or at
