Stalk & Vine Celebrates Opening

Wilmington, NC- Stalk & Vine recently held a ribbon cutting event to mark their grand opening at 224 South Water Street.  The festivities included Mayor Bill Saffo along with friends, family and colleagues from the Downtown Business Alliance.  Wilmington Downtown, Inc. (WDI) presided over the ceremony.

Zac Brown is the owner/entrepreneur behind Stalk & Vine.  The business is a new tapas bar and restaurant that is situated along Wilmington’s alluring Riverwalk.  Zac has extensive restaurant and brew-pub experience and has used this vast industry knowledge to develop the new establishment.

The restaurant features innovative food choices with an emphasis on small plates.  They also offer medium and large plates too.  The cuisine boasts influences from New Orleans, New York City and San Francisco and has dishes ranging from pickled quail eggs, sandwiches, Charcuterie boards and vegan bowls.  Craft beers are offered along with wine and innovative cocktails.  Stalk & Vine also features a special wine dispensing machine that provides pours from select, high-end bottles.

“Opening Stalk & Vine has been a great and humbling experience for me,” said owner Zac Brown.  “There has been so much community support and I am super excited to bring this concept to fruition,” he added.

The business has an entrance along the Riverwalk and another entry from an elevated walkway on Water Street.  With windows on three sides of the dining room along with a cheerful color scheme, the interior space feels open and airy.  Several tables are throughout the space and the bar also offers ample seating.  Tables on the outside patio provide a great view of the Cape Fear River and several spots are covered by new awnings.  Planter boxes with shrubs bring additional elegance to the outdoor setting.

“Downtown is fortunate to attract an entrepreneur like Zac Brown,” said WDI President Ed Wolverton.  “The restaurant is a great addition to the center city and Zac is a great addition to our community of merchants,” he said.

The restaurant is located at 224 S. Water Street in downtown Wilmington.  They are open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Stalk & Vine can be reached by phone at 910.769.0567 or online.
